VAN GOGH EXPERIENCE - SAN POTITO CHURCH

What if you could step right into a Van Gogh painting?. Feeling his bright and dramatic colors, the yellow fields, the irises, the night scenes of Arles?. A selection of Van Gogh artworks have come to life in the atmospheric church of San Potito in Naples.

The church was constructed in the first half of the 17th century to accommodate Basilian nuns. In 1808 the church was abandoned until King Francis I of Two Sicilies decided to give the building to his bankers. After a long restoration the church has now come back to life, not as a place of worship but as a venue space, which is now hosting the Van Gogh experience. This permanent exhibition gives visitors a full immersive experience into the works of Vincent Van Gogh. The exhibition consists of rooms filled with moving images and video projections of some of Van Gogh’s most famous works. One of the best things is the virtual reality experience, which costs an additional 2€ fee, where you feel you are flying through his paintings. The exhibition is good for all types of tourists including families with children.
